Our Mission

What sets us apart from other offices is our unique team: an amazing family dentist in San Antonio who can treat our adult members; a caring pediatric dentist who cares for younger patients including children with special needs; and a top-notch orthodontist who can make everyone smile.

Smiles of Bulverde is a women-owned practice that wants to create a safe space for those in need and a beacon of light for our community. Our mission is to be an inclusive practice where every patient, regardless of special needs, mental health issues, physical limitations, or dental anxiety, can have access to the best dentistry available. We are experts at figuring out how to get the treatment done when it feels like everyone else has given up.

Get To Know Dr. Lisa Ding

Dr. Lisa is a board-certified pediatric dentist who has called San Antonio her home since she moved to the area with her family as a junior in high school. She received her Bachelor’s in biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. After a few years of practicing in dental offices, she realized how much she loved caring for children. In 2013, Dr. Lisa completed a two-year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. 

After residency, Dr. Lisa became a faculty member at the residency program at University of Texas to help with residents' learning while maintaining a position in private practice. As a mother of 3 little boys herself, Dr. Lisa draws from her personal experiences to cultivate a safe, supportive and loving relationship for her patients, nurturing the mother and infant dyad. Dr. Lisa finds so much joy in helping mothers and their babies, and looks forward to helping in anyway she can.

Dr. Lisa loves to spend time with her family and friends, try new recipes, travel, and try different dining hot spots.

Get To Know Dr. Luciana Ramirez

Dr. Luciana Ramirez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2014 before proudly serving as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy for five years.

After returning home to San Antonio, Dr. Ramirez dedicated her career to caring for the local community. During that time, she discovered a passion for working with children, inspiring her to pursue advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry. She completed her Pediatric Dentistry residency in 2026 and is board eligible.

Dr. Ramirez is committed to providing safe, high-quality dental care in a compassionate and welcoming environment. She believes every child deserves individualized attention and strives to build trusting relationships with patients and their families, helping children feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at every visit.

Meet Our Hygienist

Jessica has been part of the dental profession since 2005, beginning her career as a dental assistant before becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. With 10 years of experience as an RDH, she is passionate about providing exceptional patient care while helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident about their oral health.

Originally from Austin, Jessica loves building genuine relationships with her patients and believes that great dental care starts with trust and education. She is dedicated to creating a positive, comfortable experience for every patient she sees.

Dr. Stephen Regan was born and raised in Garland, Texas. After earning his Finance degree from Texas Tech University in 2011, he discovered his true passion for dentistry a career that combined his love for helping others and working with his hands.
He earned his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2020. Having experienced dental care himself as a child, Dr. Regan understands how patients feel and strives to create comfortable, positive dental experiences.
He especially enjoys helping nervous patients feel more confident and relaxed during their visits. Outside the office, Dr. Regan enjoys spending time with his furry companion, Stella Bella, and getting to know the families he serves.

What to Expect

Before we start any treatment, we want our patients to feel comfortable and safe. Once we get to know each other and we’ve reviewed any important medical history, we’ll take diagnostic x-rays and photographs as a part of a comprehensive oral exam. Then we’ll perform a cleaning and review any findings. Your comfort is important to us, so if you feel anxious at any time during your appointment, let us know.

Digital x-rays utilize minimal amounts of radiation for maximum safety. With a range of digital sensors, from the smallest to the largest sizes, we can accommodate patients of all ages while keeping them as comfortable as possible.

Intraoral scanners give us an in-depth understanding of your oral health. By blowing up a picture of your tooth and putting it on a computer monitor, we’re able to see every crack and crevice with crystal-clear detail. This allows us to detect issues when they’re still invisible to the naked eye, so we can fix a problem before it turns into a larger and more costly one.

Digital scanners make goopy impressions a thing of the past. They take highly accurate digital scans of your teeth and jaw, giving us the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D on a computer screen. Digital impressions can be used for orthodontics, crowns, and so much more.

Sedation dentistry is completely safe for patients of all ages, and helps us work quickly and more effectively while you're fully relaxed. This makes for a faster appointment and a positive dental experience for you or your child.
